Continuing to reassemble the playfield here. All the nickel plated guide rails and hole lids have been polished - thanks again to Ron. I did have to repaint a few of the tin flags that surround the race track. Some were missing a lot of paint but I'm good at matching colors and I think I hit 'em dead on. I also had to make an instruction card as it was completely missing. Richard Conger let me take pics of the one on his Blue Ribbon and I sent the pic to Jeff McAfee of Classic Arcades to reproduce. Jeff still hasn't come up with a repro yet but hopefully soon. The original is printed on a silver foil paper like the NRA stickers you see at the top of the playfield. In the mean time I doctored up the art myself with Paint Shop Pro and Corel Draw. Obviously I can only print on paper but I think it came out fantastic. I tried painting some paper silver and printing to that but the ink just didn't stick. Jeff, hurry up! :)
Here we have the guides, posts and flags installed Swing gates installed too
Nice polish on the hole lids! Even polished the undersides of the lids
See the beautiful bounce-back at the upper left? It was missing on this game. This one was given to me by Mr. Richard Conger of Silver Ball Ranch fame. I simply cannot thank him enough for all his help!
The car colors are still intense after over 70 years! Tilt cup installed
Totalizer showing cleaned car flags and my instruction card and the score flags
